Man Down Appeal - Morrisette
Updated On: Mar 30, 2011

South Manchester Uniformed Retired Fire Fighters
The SMURFF organization has issued an appeal for help … help for retired Firefighter Phil Morrissette. As many of you know, Phil’s life took a dramatic turn when he was stricken with Guillain Barre Syndrome, a disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. Still, after many months, Phil remains hospitalized in Springfield, MA paralyzed and unable to speak.
Phil retired in 1993 following twenty-four years of service.
The SMURFFs are asking for donations to help a brother in need faced with financial burdens as such a disease can cause. They are also asking that you include a note or card to express your support at this very difficult time.
Checks can be made payable to: "Phil Morrissette Fund" and mailed to Manchester Municipal Federal Credit Union, 479 Main Street, Manchester CT 06040.
